2024 Functional Medicine for All Scholarship Application

The 2024 Functional Medicine for All Scholarship is open to practitioners working with underserved communities around the globe. Applicants who applied to the 2024 Founders’ scholarship and opted in to use their application for the Functional Medicine for All Scholarship do not need to reapply. Please email scholarships@ifm.org with any questions.  

Applicants must meet all scholarship eligibility requirements and be a licensed professional who meets the eligibility requirements for IFM's Certification Program, to be verified prior to award.

Your application will be rated based on your written answers. Your application should reflect:  
  • Passion and excitement for serving culturally, racially, or economically diverse and/or rural population(s) and utilizing functional medicine in your practice.
  • Desire and commitment to use functional medicine to directly impact the health of your patient population and community.  

Please note the following if you practice within the United States:

Applicants must hold:

  • At least a master’s level degree in a health-related field from an accredited university.
    • Exception: IFM has established the minimum education level required for registered nurses and registered dietitians to be a bachelor’s level degree.
    AND
  • An active healthcare license to practice by the appropriate authority in the state, province, or country of the applicant’s clinical practice.

Please note the following if you practice outside of the United States: 


IFM’s certification courses and testing are offered in English. We recommend professional fluency in English, especially with medical terminology.   For reference, please refer to our free online course: Introduction to Functional Medicine

Applicants must hold:

  • At least a bachelor’s or advanced diploma level degree in a health-related filed from an accredited university;
    AND
  • A current healthcare license to practice by the appropriate authority in the federal district, province, or country of the applicant’s clinical practice.
    • Exception: In some countries where the discipline is not licensable/regulated by government, providing a membership to regulatory organization and malpractice insurance may be acceptable to meet this requirement (For example: UK Nutritional Therapists)
